Waterway Black P.A. is pleased to announce that Kelsey Black has been invited to join the prestigious Claims and Litigation Management Alliance. The CLM is a nonpartisan alliance comprised of thousands of insurance companies, corporations, Corporate Counsel, Litigation and Risk Managers, claims professionals and attorneys.

Through education and collaboration the organization’s goals are to create a common interest in the representation by firms of companies, and to promote and further the highest standards of litigation management in pursuit of client defense. Selected attorneys and law firms are extended membership by invitation only based on nominations from CLM Fellows.

dri-logo-newKelsey Black presented with Caterpillar corporate counsel Jaime Myers at the annual DRI Women in the Law seminar in Scottsdale, Arizona on February 6, 2014.  Ms. Black and Ms. Myers were featured speakers at the seminar on the subject of Daubert challenges. Ms. Myers and Ms. Black’s presentation covered the gamut of Daubert, including taking the expert’s deposition, gathering affidavits, drafting the motion, and presenting your argument to the court.

The presentation also included best methods for challenging an expert on the stand in front of the jury.  Over the course of the 3-day seminar, Ms. Black also attended various lectures and presentations by other speakers on the subjects of jury selection, successful negotiation techniques, and electronic discovery.
